STRESZCZENIE
W ciągu całej swojej kariery technika dentystycznego autor bardzo rzadko miał możliwość pracy nad przypadkami, które wymagają ogromnego zaangażowania ze strony wszystkich członków zespołu stomatologicznego biorących udział w terapii: periodontologa, chirurga stomatologicznego, protetyka i technika dentystycznego oraz pacjenta. Technik dentystyczny musi mieć dużą wiedzę na temat ustalonych procedur postępowania jeszcze przed wszczepieniem implantów. Powinien otrzymać wszystkie informacje, uzyskane na podstawie badania tomograficznego. Rozmiar implantów i odległość między nimi to kluczowe informacje, ponieważ chirurg wszczepia implanty na podstawie własnej analizy badań obrazowych pacjenta – co nie pozostaje bez wpływu na końcowy efekt estetyczny. Technik dentystyczny wraz z lekarzem dentystą muszą zdecydować, co będzie najlepsze dla pacjenta w długoterminowej perspektywie. Artykuł jest poświęcony pracy za kulisami, jaką włożył autor w celu uzyskania najlepszych możliwych efektów.

SUMMARY
In his entire career as a technician, the author has very seldom been privileged to work on a case of this type. It involves a lot of commitment on the part of all the dental professionals involved: the Periodontist, Oral Surgeon, the Prosthodontist and the Lab Technician as well as the patient. The technician needs to have enormous knowledge of the process before the implants are placed and be given all the information gained from the CT analysis scanning. Size of implants and distance between the implants is crucial information because the Periodontist will place the implants based on his analysis of the patient’s scan - which will have an impact on the esthetic outcome of the case. Ultimately, this question is not going to be of concern to the specialist – he is there to perform the surgery. The technician, along with the dentist, has to decide what will be best for the patient in the long-run. Our article will deal with the behind-thescenes work the author put into helping achieve the best possible results for the patient.
